Immersion Program

Lesson Study Immersion Program offers leaders of lesson study a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in authentic mathematics Lesson Study in Japan. Participants will observe several mathematics lessons, developed through Lesson Study in elementary and secondary schools, and participate in live post-lesson discussions. All research lessons and post-lesson discussions will be simultaneously translated into English by experts of mathematics teaching and learning. In addition, participants will have opportunities to interact with teachers, students, and education professors from schools in Japan.

海外で授業研究をリードする算数数学教育研究者や現職教員を対象に，日本の授業研究の実際を知りより良い授業研究のあり方への議論を深める、訪日型の集中プログラムです。参加者は、小・中学校の算数数学の研究授業を参観し、研究授業後の研究協議会にライブで参加します。すべての研究授業と研究協議会は、数学教育の専門家によって同時に英訳されます。

Sample schedule

This is an international online course [series of modules] for professional development of those involved in mathematics education.The course will provide a unique opportunity to examine the Japanese approach to teaching mathematics through problem-solving (TTP), a method developed by Japanese educators and diffused through Lesson Study. The course will use some elements of Lesson study itself, participants will learn key points applicable in every-day lessons. A certificate will be given for each module once all activities have been completed.

数学教育に携わるプロフェッショナル育成のためのオンライン研修です。授業研究を通して普及した算数数学科の「問題解決の授業（TTP）」という日本のアプローチを用いた特色ある研修を提供します。このコースでは、授業研究そのものの要素も取り入れながら、日々の授業に応用できるポイントを学びます。全課程を修了した方には、修了証が授与されます。
